The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved the subsidy applications of 25 transport cooperatives under its Expanded Equity Subsidy program. These cooperatives are now cleared to acquire a total of 162 modern jeepneys, supporting the government’s efforts to modernize public transportation.

LTFRB Chairperson Vigor Mendoza II emphasized that the initiative aims to improve accessibility, safety, and overall quality of public transport.

The subsidy helps small transport operators transition to cleaner, safer, and more efficient modern public utility vehicles, aligning with broader transport modernization goals.
