Police report a decline in online scam cases as 2025 nears its end. The Philippine National Police’s Anti-Cybercrime Group has been monitoring digital fraud, including fake online sellers and phishing scams, and noted that incidents are lower compared to earlier in the year.

Despite the drop, authorities are stepping up holiday cyber patrols to prevent seasonal spikes in shopping and delivery-related scams, which typically increase during the Christmas period.

At the same time, police continue to crack down on more complex schemes. Recent operations have targeted car financing fraud networks, resulting in hundreds of arrests.
