Maddie Madayag, the seasoned middle blocker from Choco Mucho, is set to take her volleyball skills overseas after signing with the Kurobe Aqua Fairies for the 2024-2025 season of Japan’s V.League. The club announced the new addition on Monday.
Madayag, standing tall at 5-foot-11, brings her formidable presence to the Japanese league, concluding her five-year tenure with the Flying Titans. During her time with Choco Mucho, the team evolved from underdogs to strong title contenders in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).
Kurobe Aqua Fairies has also signed two other international players, Rena Stigrot from Germany and Iris Scholten from the Netherlands, further strengthening their roster.
Choco Mucho, which recently concluded a challenging campaign in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference, extended their best wishes to Madayag as she embarks on this new chapter in her career abroad.
“Join us in sending our captain, Maddie Madayag, all the best as she takes on Japan with the Kurobe Aqua Fairies,” Choco Mucho said in a statement. “We’re incredibly proud of you, Maddie, for seizing this amazing opportunity in your career. Your Choco Mucho Flying Titans fam is with you every step of the way. We can’t wait to welcome you back stronger than ever!”
