A Magnitude 6.1 earthquake shook various parts of Mindanao at 5:57 AM Thursday, April 21.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the epicenter was located 78 kilometers East of Manay, Davao Oriental, with a depth of focus of 21 kilometers. The quake is tectonic in origin.

Reported intensities are as follows:

Intensity IV – Manay, Davao Oriental.

Intensity II – General Santos City; Tampakan, South Cotabato

Meanwhile, here are the instrumental intensities:

Intensity II – Davao City; Bislig City; Kidapawan City; and General Santos City.

There are no expected damages from the quake, but people should be alert for possible aftershocks.
