Manila has achieved a remarkable feat by being named the World’s Leading City Destination for 2023 at the prestigious World Travel Awards. This significant recognition marks Manila’s first-ever win in this category. The award ceremony was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on December 1. The World Travel Awards, often described as the Oscars of the travel industry, were established in 1993 in London and acknowledge excellence in travel and tourism on national, regional, and global scales.
Additionally, the Philippines retained its titles as the World’s Leading Dive Destination and Beach Destination from 2022. Earlier in the year, Manila was also recognized as the “most loving city in the world” by the website Crossword Solver.
