MAYNILA – Itinalaga na ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. si MGen. Benjamin Acorda bilang bago at ika-29 hepe ng Philippine National Police.
Ito ay kasunod ng pagreretiro ni PNP chief PGen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. nitong Lunes, Abril 24.
Sa kanyang talumpati, nagpasalamat si Acorda sa pangulo para sa kanyang pagkatalaga.
“My heartfelt gratitude to our president. I’m very humbled for the trust and confidence to be an instrument of peace and justice for every Filipino,” aniya.
“Sir, as a chief PNP, together with the 228,000 PNP personnel, my all compromising commitment to you, Mr. President and to our fellow countrymen that we, under your administration, will be vanguards of peace to ensure a safe and economically stable community,” dagdag pa ni Acorda.
Aniya, kailangan ng PNP na maging matatag sa pagbibigay ng serbisyo.
Nagpasalamat din si Acorda sa Kalihim ng Department of Interior and Local Government na si Benhur Abalos para sa suporta at dedikasyon nito sa PNP.
“Under my leadership, we will be your partner in ensuring a secure, peaceful, and crime-free community,” aniya.
Sinabi ni Acorda na sa kanyang pamumuno, magiging tapat at magseserbisyo ang PNP nang may dignidad at pagkapropesyonal.
Humingi rin ng suporta at kooperasyon ang bagong hepe ng PNP sa pagsugpo ng kriminalidad sa bansa sa ilalim ng kanyang pamumuno dahil aniya, hindi niya kaya itong gawin mag-isa.
