Key Provisions of the Law
Fixed Three-Year Term – The PCG commandant’s tenure begins upon signing of appointment, unless sooner terminated by the President.
Compulsory Retirement – The commandant must retire after completing the term or upon relief by the President.
Qualifications – The commandant must hold a command-at-sea badge and have served as a PCG district commander.
Coverage – Applies to current and future PCG chiefs appointed under RA 9993 and other laws.
