President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. announced on Thursday that he plans to visit U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss key issues affecting Philippines-U.S. relations, including defense, trade, and immigration policies.

Speaking at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Alternate Runway inauguration, Marcos emphasized the importance of addressing the deportation of undocumented Filipinos in the U.S., highlighting their significant role in the American workforce.

While no exact date has been set for the trip, Marcos expressed hope for influencing U.S. immigration policy to protect Filipinos. The U.S. has long been a key ally of the Philippines, particularly in countering China’s aggression in the South China Sea
