President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has certified as urgent the approval of House Bill No. 10800, which outlines the proposed P6.352 trillion national budget for 2025. In a letter to House Speaker Martin Romualdez, the President emphasized the need for the immediate enactment of the budget bill to ensure the continuous operation of essential government functions and the allocation of resources for key initiatives.
The proposed budget is 9.5% higher than the P5.268 trillion budget for 2024. The House aims to approve the bill on its third and final reading by September 25.
