Marian Rivera, the acclaimed Kapuso Primetime Queen, has opened up about the difficulties of portraying a non-speaking alien character in her latest series, “My Guardian Alien.” In an interview with Aubrey Carampel for “24 Oras,” Rivera shared insights into the complexities of her role, where she communicates solely through non-verbal actions, such as gestures and facial expressions.

Rivera explained that acting without dialogue demands a nuanced approach, as it relies heavily on physical expression to convey the character’s emotions and reactions. Over time, her alien character evolves, gradually understanding human expressions and developing responses.

“My Guardian Alien” marks Rivera’s return to acting following a break and showcases her in a novel role as an extraterrestrial being. The series, which began production in August of the previous year, features Rivera alongside Gabby Concepcion under the direction of Zig Dulay.

Rivera’s return is much anticipated, especially following her successful stint in the movie “Rewind” with Dingdong Dantes, which became the highest grossing Filipino film of all time.
