Representatives of the City of Mati in Davao Oriental have arrived yesterday, December 9, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, for the 16th Congress of the Most Beautiful Bays of the World Club from December 9 to 16, 2022.
The city is set to formally receive recognition from the body today, December 10.
This was made after the city’s Pujada Bay, Mayo Bay, and Balete Bay were included on the list of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World through an official communication from the Most Beautiful Bays in the World Association (MBBWA) on February 21, 2020.
A validation and site visit at Pujada Bay were conducted over the course of four days in January 2020 by Guy Rousset, the treasurer of the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World, and Bruno Bodard, the group’s general manager. Both officials expressed that their visits to Pujada Bay were profoundly affected by its breathtaking and diverse seascapes and landscapes.
Following verification, the officials provided the MBBWA Board Members with their report on the site visit, and the board gave its approval for Pujada Bay’s admission to the esteemed organization.
Mati City is also proud to be the only city with three bays internationally recognized for their beauty.
This year’s Congress is being attended by approximately 130 delegates from 35 countries.
