Maxene Magalona has shared her journey of overcoming the end of her marriage to Rob Mananquil, emphasizing the importance of prayer and acceptance. In an interview on the “Updated with Nelson Canlas” podcast, Maxene opened up about the pain of her marriage falling apart and how she managed to survive it.

“By praying. Praying for my ex-husband, praying for me, praying for the both of us so that we can let go of what was not meant for us,” Maxene said.

She revealed that one of her spiritual teachers in Bali taught her that attachment is a primary cause of human suffering. This lesson helped her understand that clinging to what is not meant to be only leads to more pain.

Maxene also found solace in Eckhart Tolle’s book, “The Power of Now,” which taught her to embrace the present moment and accept her reality instead of resisting it. “Instead of resisting, you have to turn to God and accept, ‘This is what’s happening right now, God, help me through it.’ Let’s accept that this is what God needs me to go through so that I can be the person He designed me to be,” she explained.

Maxene emphasized the importance of letting go of what no longer serves you and finding peace in acceptance. She highlighted that true peace comes from accepting the present moment and forgiving what needs to be forgiven to move on.

She also posed a critical question to those going through a separation or annulment: “What pain are you willing to go through?” Maxene acknowledged that both staying in a toxic relationship and going through a breakup are painful, but she chose the pain of breaking up. “Choosing to stay is more painful because so much is wasted—your time, energy, and purpose,” she said.

Maxene and Rob married in 2018 with a private church wedding followed by a ceremony in Boracay. Breakup rumors began in early 2022 when netizens noticed they no longer followed each other on social media, and Maxene had dropped Rob’s surname from her Instagram. In October 2022, she confirmed her single status with an Instagram post and moved out of her marital home.

Maxene’s journey of healing and acceptance serves as an inspiration to those facing similar struggles, reminding them that peace and growth come from letting go and embracing the present.
