Actresses Maymay Entrata and Kyline Alcantara shared heartfelt stories about their early experiences with beauty and makeup during a recent event hosted by a global cosmetics brand in Makati City.

Maymay, known for her vibrant energy on ASAP, recalled how she used to rub perfume samples from brochures on herself as a child. For Kyline, makeup has been part of her life since childhood—her mother once sold cosmetics to help support their family. “It was our livelihood. Makeup literally helped put food on our table,” she said.

Both stars expressed gratitude to the makeup artists they’ve worked with over the years, crediting them for enhancing their natural features and boosting their confidence.

Maymay fondly remembered a moment when her longtime makeup artist “Sir Owen” pulled off a stunning look in just 30 minutes due to a tight rehearsal schedule. “That’s when I realized simple looks can be the most beautiful. Makeup should highlight your natural features—not hide them,” she said.

Kyline shared the best advice she got from celebrity makeup artist Gela Laurel: always remove your makeup and build a good base. “She’s not just my makeup artist—she’s like a mom to me,” she said.

When asked what brings color to their lives, Maymay answered “love,” while Kyline playfully responded with “makeup!”

Maymay recently hit a career high by recording the Filipino version of the Snow White live-action theme song “Nasaan ang Hiling?” Meanwhile, Kyline earned praise for her role as Joanna dela Costa in Shining Inheritance, a Philippine remake of the K-drama Brilliant Legacy.
