Property developer Megaworld Corp. has earmarked ₱15 billion for an 84-hectare township development in Ilocos Norte, marking its first major project in Northern Luzon and 34th overall. Named “Ilocandia Coastown,” the project will be located near Fort Ilocandia Hotel, featuring a 1.4-kilometer beachfront and sand dunes, with residential areas, a shophouse district, a commercial area, and a town center.
The township’s design will draw from Filipino and Spanish architectural heritage, and it will be situated 15 minutes from Laoag International Airport and 30 minutes from the Paoay Church. According to Kevin Tan, CEO of Alliance Global Group, the development aims to tap into Ilocos Norte’s growing tourism potential and its recognition as a Digital City by 2025.
Megaworld’s latest investment follows successful projects in Central and Western Visayas, reflecting its strategy to expand into the country’s fastest-growing regions. The company reported a net income of ₱9.81 billion for the first half of the year, with revenues of ₱39.1 billion.
