Ken Chu has honored his Meteor Garden co-star, Barbie Hsu, on Instagram following the actress’s sudden passing.
On Monday, the Taiwanese singer and actor shared a solid black photo on his Instagram Stories as a sign of mourning. He also reposted a nostalgic cast photo from Meteor Garden, featuring himself, Barbie Hsu, Vic Chou, Jerry Yan, and Vanness Wu.
The beloved Taiwanese series, which premiered in 2001, followed the story of Shan Cai (played by Barbie), a poor girl navigating life at an elite school dominated by the wealthy F4 boys—Dao Ming Si (Jerry), Xi Men (Ken), Mei Zuo (Vanness), and Hua Ze Lei (Vic). The success of the series led the four male leads to form the iconic boy band F4.
Barbie Hsu passed away at 48 due to pneumonia. Her family and agent confirmed the news via South China Morning Post and Focus Taiwan. She is survived by her husband, South Korean musician DJ Koo, and her two children from her previous marriage to Wang Xiao Fei, whom she divorced in 2021.
