Anthonet Faith Bernardo, the fourth runner-up of Miss Universe Philippines-Pasig 2025, left the audience both in stitches and awe after candidly revealing during the pageant’s question-and-answer portion that she wasn’t wearing any underwear beneath her finals night gown.
The 18-year-old beauty queen made the unexpected admission after being asked by pageant judge Shamcey Supsup-Lee to share “at least one secret” she was comfortable revealing to the live audience.
“This secret will be okay for me to share but I think my family won’t be okay with this,” Bernardo quipped. “To be honest, I’m wearing this beautiful gown from Gerald Yacat, but I don’t have an underwear. That’s my secret.”
The audience, along with event hosts MJ Lastimosa and Jazper Tiongson, erupted in laughter, while Bernardo confidently posed in her white embellished serpentina gown with side cutouts, owning the moment with poise.
“Si Mareng Shamcey kasi naki-Marites pa,” Lastimosa joked, adding, “Grabe, what a way to end the Q&A round!”
Mixed Reactions from Family and Netizens
While Bernardo’s candidness earned her a wave of hilarious and supportive reactions from netizens, as seen on the Pageant Aficionado Facebook page, her conservative family was reportedly surprised by her answer.
“I come from a somewhat conservative family, so they were surprised by my answer,” Bernardo told INQUIRER.net. “As much as I wanted to keep it concise, they told me that I should’ve elaborated it.”
Despite the unexpected revelation, Bernardo expressed her love for the gown, calling it the “perfect dress” for coronation night. “The moment I saw it, I was immediately drawn to it,” she said.
A First-Time Pageant Success
The MUPH-Pasig 2025 competition marked Bernardo’s first-ever pageant, but the first-year communication student managed to secure a spot in the Top 5, winning not just fourth runner-up but also titles like Miss Diligence, Miss Beauty Queen, and Miss St. Gerrard Construction.
“I am very thrilled that I got to be part of the Top 5. These next days, I’ll be going back to school, but if opportunity comes, I’ll be more delighted to join bigger pageants,” Bernardo said.
Addressing her family and supporters, she added, “I am forever grateful for your support and you guys are the biggest inspiration and motivation that I have. My dreams and success are also yours.”
