Health authorities in Cagayan de Oro(CDO) raised the alarm due to the numbers of children admitted with COVID-19 rises compared to the numbers of cases last year.

There are more children aged 12 and below or pediatric cases being admitted in the hospitas in CDO according to Dr. Ted Yu, of Cagayan de Oro City Health office. 32 cases last week, 35 in July, and 16 cases in June. These numbers show the current spike of COVID-19 cases in the city.

He added, that the numbers of children being infected with COVID-19 last year is “very unlike” but due to the current surge and Delta variant many are getting sick and in serious condition.
