The family of the late Lily Monteverde, affectionately known as “Mother Lily” in the showbiz industry, has announced the details of her wake, which will begin at 3:30 PM on Monday, August 5.

In a statement released by Regal Entertainment, the Monteverde family requested prayers for the beloved film producer, who passed away on Sunday. The memorial service will be held at 38 Valencia Events Place in Quezon City, with interment scheduled for Saturday, August 10, at The Heritage Park in Taguig City.

“Mother Lily was surrounded by her children and grandchildren in her final hours. She was blessed with the chance to say goodbye to her closest friends and associates who bid her farewell yesterday before she left for that trip back home to the Divine Father,” the family shared.

Mother Lily passed away just six days after the death of her husband, Remy, at the age of 84.

“The family is at peace now that their mother has not only found rest but has joined their father Remy in that place called eternity—as they were together in life, so they will remain together where there is no space or time,” the Monteverde family expressed.

As the long-time matriarch of Regal Entertainment, Mother Lily left an indelible mark on Philippine cinema. She was the producer of numerous blockbuster films, including the iconic “Mano Po” anthology.

Her family hopes her memory will be cherished as a “true mother” to the artists and workers who knew her throughout her career.

“Throughout her years, she has not only been a mother to her children but also the ‘Mother’ to so many generations of Filipino filmmakers who have helped define what Philippine cinema is today,” they stated.

“Even in her final years, Mother Lily served as one of the cornerstones of the movie industry, providing opportunities to filmmakers—both creative and technical—to carve their names in our popular history.”
