A Philippine National Police (PNP) official announced on Sunday that there is no evidence suggesting suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo has left the country.

“Based on a report from the Bureau of Immigration, there is no indication that suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo and her companions who are being sought have left the country,” said PNP Spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo during an interview on Super Radyo DzBB.

Guo is currently facing an arrest order from the Senate after repeatedly failing to attend hearings regarding the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in her town. The arrest order also includes her siblings Sheila Leal Guo, Wesley Leal Guo, Jian Zhong Guo, Seimen Guo, and her suspected mother Wen Yi Lin. Additionally, former Technology and Livelihood Resource Center (TLRC) deputy director general Dennis Cunanan and Alice Guo’s alleged accountant Nancy Gamo are also included in the order.

The Senate recently ordered the release of Gamo from detention.

The Department of Justice believes that the embattled mayor is still in the country as they have information on her whereabouts.

“We continuously assist the Office of the Sergeant at Arms of the Senate, who are tasked with implementing the warrant of arrest. We are coordinating with them,” Fajardo stated.

Fajardo also warned that individuals aiding Guo and her companions in evading authorities will face legal consequences.

“If we have sufficient evidence and it is proven that they are hiding Mayor Guo and others, we can file charges against them,” Fajardo added.
