The Manila Police District (MPD) is appealing to parents and pet-owners to avoid bringing children and animals to cemeteries this year for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day (“Undas”). According to the MPD, the influx of visitors can create crowded and potentially unsafe conditions — especially for younger children and pets — making the graveside environment more difficult to manage.

Authorities say the request is meant to help ensure smoother traffic flow, reduce the risk of accidents or missing persons, and allow cemetery officials to more easily maintain order. Families are being encouraged to commemorate their loved ones in simpler ways and consider visiting at off-peak times instead.
