Nate Alcasid, the son of famed musicians Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez, has reached a significant milestone by graduating from grade school, with his sights now set on junior high. The joyful occasion was celebrated by his parents, who each took to Instagram to share their pride and emotions.
Ogie Alcasid expressed his heartfelt feelings with a post stating, “And just like that he is moving up to junior high school. Nakakaiyak,” showcasing his son’s graduation photo. His message continued with affectionate words for Nate: “Fly high my son. Love you so much.”
Regine Velasquez echoed this sentiment, calling her son her “pogi boo” and reflecting on how quickly time has passed. “My Boo is graduating. Ang bilis ng panahon,” she captioned her post, emphasizing her awe and pride in her son’s growth and achievements.
The celebration was enriched by congratulatory messages from various celebrities, including Melai Cantiveros, Vicki Belo, Jessa Zaragoza, and Kuh Ledesma, who all shared their good wishes through comments on social media. Michelle van Eimeren, Alcasid’s former wife, also joined in, expressing her pride in Nate’s accomplishments.
Ogie and Regine, who were married in Batangas in December 2010 and welcomed Nate into their lives a year later, have often spoken about the significance of their son in their lives. Regine recently stated that beyond her decades-long career, Nate represents her true legacy. “For me, my legacy is my son because people will forget about me, will forget about my voice, and what I’ve done in the industry, but my son will always remember me. So my son is my legacy,” she shared, highlighting the profound bond and enduring influence she hopes to leave through her son.
As Nate prepares for the next phase of his educational journey, the support and love from his family and their friends shine brightly, marking this transition as not just a personal achievement for Nate but a celebrated event among his community.
