Rosanna Roces, the former “Eat Bulaga” host, has publicly expressed her desire to mend the long-standing rift with fellow actress Ai-Ai delas Alas. In a revealing interview with Aiko Melendez, Roces reflected on the genuine and joyful friendship she once shared with the “Ang Tanging Ina” actress, which unfortunately deteriorated over a misunderstanding related to a show event in Dagupan.

Roces recounted how a previous show that delas Alas did with Ara Mina did not perform well, which led to a producer’s decision to remove delas Alas from the promotional poster of their upcoming show—without Roces’s knowledge. This action seemingly hurt delas Alas and contributed to the fallout between the two actresses.

Despite the passage of time, Roces harbors no ill feelings and is hopeful for a reconciliation. She expressed a willingness to reach out and make amends, stating, “I’m hoping we can fix everything. I’m willing to go to her anywhere. But of course, when she’s ready. But I have no hard feelings or anything like that.”

Roces also mentioned her belief in the healing power of time and her wish to possibly share the stage again with delas Alas, reminiscent of their past collaborations. “There’s nothing that cannot be fixed over time, right? Time heals all wounds. So, we’ll get there. I really hope we can do a show together again, like we used to,” she shared optimistically.

In contrast, delas Alas has maintained a firm stance over the years, consistently opting not to comment on matters regarding Roces, as evident in her 2007 statement to PEP where she declared, “Uniform pa rin ang sagot ko…. ‘Pag tungkol kay Osang, parati akong no comment for life.”

This ongoing saga between two of the entertainment industry’s notable figures highlights the complexities of personal and professional relationships in the limelight. Roces’s recent openness about the situation sheds light on the personal growth and reconciliation efforts that can emerge even after years of silence.
