Singer and former VJ Nikki Gil revealed that her three-year-old daughter Maddie has been diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease, a rare but serious illness affecting young children.

In an emotional Instagram post, Nikki shared the challenges their family faced as Maddie underwent medical tests, IV treatments, and medications. “Maddie was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease — something we had never even heard of,” she wrote. “Seeing our little girl in pain… was the hardest thing we’ve ever gone through as parents.”

Despite the difficulty, Nikki expressed deep gratitude to the medical team and loved ones who supported them. “We’re finally home with our brave girl, and while recovery continues, our hearts are filled with gratitude,” she added.

Kawasaki Disease, also known as Kawasaki Syndrome, causes widespread inflammation of the blood vessels and is the leading cause of acquired heart disease in children. It was first identified by Japanese pediatrician Tomisaku Kawasaki.

Maddie is Nikki’s daughter with husband BJ Albert. The couple also has a son named Finn.
