OPM legend Ogie Alcasid opened up about his emotions surrounding the upcoming wedding of his eldest daughter, Leila, on Tuesday’s episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. The proud father revealed that he can’t help but tear up at the thought of walking Leila down the aisle.
“Just thinking about it now, I’m already in tears,” Ogie shared, explaining that in his eyes, Leila, now 27, is still his “little girl.”
Leila recently got engaged to Filipino musician Mito Fabie in September, with the proposal taking place in scenic Calaca, Batangas. While Ogie admitted he and Mito didn’t immediately click, he now holds great respect for him. “He is a very nice man. We didn’t start off on the right foot at first, but we understand each other, and he takes good care of my daughter,” Ogie said, expressing his pride.
Following the engagement, Ogie shared his joy for the couple on Instagram, blessing their union and wishing them an everlasting bond in faith and love.
Ogie shares Leila and her younger sister, Sarah, with his ex-wife, Michelle Van Eimeren. He and his wife, Regine Velasquez, also have a son, Nate.
