Entertainment reporter Ogie Diaz has refuted claims that he confirmed the cancellation of the popular noontime show “Eat Bulaga” due to financial issues. Diaz addressed the controversy, urging the public to view his entire YouTube vlog before forming opinions.

The misunderstanding stemmed from a vlog released on April 16, in which Diaz and his co-host Loi Villarama discussed rumors circulated by a social media account named Kapatid Insider. Despite their discussion, they did not confirm the show’s cancellation.

“Eat Bulaga” hosts, Tito Sotto and Joey de Leon, also addressed the rumors on air, criticizing those spreading misinformation on social media platforms.

In a Facebook post dated April 19, Diaz emphasized the importance of context and full comprehension of his report. He wrote, “This is for those who immediately jumped to the conclusion that we confirmed ‘Eat Bulaga’s’ rumored cancellation due to bankruptcy. Please watch the whole vlog before making a reaction. Please check if we indeed confirmed the rumors.”

Diaz also shared a link to the vlog in question, marked with a thumbnail that read, “Is ‘Eat Bulaga’ going off-air? Why?” He remarked that only a few minutes of watching the video are necessary to understand the facts of their report fully.

The comedian and showbiz reporter concluded his post by cautioning his audience against overreacting to such news.
