Filipino-American pop star Olivia Rodrigo was spotted exploring Intramuros, Manila’s historic Walled City, on Friday, just ahead of her much-anticipated concert in the Philippines.
Netizen Kady Lautengco shared her excitement on TikTok, recounting her chance encounter with Rodrigo at the Plaza San Luis Complex. Lautengco and her cousin were there to try the popular Bambike Tours when they noticed a large gathering of cars in the area. To their surprise, they found themselves face-to-face with the “GUTS” singer.
Lautengco described Rodrigo as “super bait and accommodating” when she asked for a photo. “I’m super happy and starstruck I saw her today,” she said.
The encounter quickly went viral on TikTok, with Lautengco’s video of Olivia garnering nearly 900,000 views and 125,500 likes as of writing. She affectionately referred to the singer as a “humble queen” and wished her luck for her concert.
Rodrigo, who arrived in the Philippines on Thursday night with her boyfriend, British actor Louis Partridge, is set to perform at the Philippine Arena on Saturday, October 5. One of her first stops in the country was to grab a local favorite, halo-halo.
