More than 18,000 elective positions will be contested nationwide in the 2025 National and Local Elections, according to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). A total of 18,280 seats are open, covering 14 posts across 254 legislative districts.

For the national elections, 12 senatorial seats, 63 party-list representative seats, and 254 congressional district representative seats will be available.

In the local elections, positions include:

  • Governor: 82
  • Vice Governor: 82
  • Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members: 800
  • City Mayor: 149
  • City Vice Mayor: 149
  • Sangguniang Panlungsod Members: 1,690
  • Municipal Mayor: 1,493
  • Municipal Vice Mayor: 1,493
  • Sangguniang Bayan Members: 11,948
  • BARMM Members of Parliament: 25
  • BARMM Party Representatives: 40

The 254 legislative districts are spread across regions, with the National Capital Region having the highest number (33 districts), followed by Region IV-A (31 districts).

As of September 17, 2024, COMELEC registered 6.25 million new voters, with Calabarzon recording the most (1,041,179), followed by NCR and Central Luzon. The voter registration period, which started on February 12, 2024, will end on September 30, 2024, with no extension planned, per COMELEC Chairperson George Erwin Garcia.

The 2025 elections will serve as a significant event for local and national governance in the Philippines.
