The mega isolation facility in Zamboanga City is expected to finish within the month of August. To serve in the event of surge of Delta variant of COVID-19.
The facility is located inside the Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority or Zamboanga Freeport Authority in Barangay Talisayan. It’s 70% complete according to Dr. Elmeir Jade Apolinario, Chief of Zamboanga City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.
The Facility will be able to provide 320 beds and fully air-conditioned rooms. This is the biggest facility established since July, when they converted the convention center in Barangay Pasonanca into 188-bed quarantine site.
