Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao confirmed on Wednesday that negotiations are currently underway for high-profile matchups, including a potential rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and a separate possibility against Vasyl Lomachenko.

Speaking at a press conference in Manila, Pacquiao said: “There’s a possible rematch with Floyd Mayweather… and also a fight with Lomachenko and other options. Soon, we’ll announce the final decision.”

The 46-year-old Filipino icon, who returned to the ring in 2025 after a multi-year hiatus, is clearly open to major fights again. The rematch with Mayweather would come a decade after their first bout in 2015, which Mayweather won via unanimous decision.
Meanwhile, a fight with Lomachenko — though likely to be an exhibition or special event given his recent retirement — also remains on the table.

Pacquiao emphasised that while talks are active, nothing is locked in yet. He remains focused on staying in top form and wants any deal to make sense for him and the fans.

What This Could Mean

  • A rematch with Mayweather would be one of boxing’s biggest comebacks—both fighters are past their prime but still high-profile.
  • A bout with Lomachenko could either be an exhibition or a full fight, depending on how negotiations shake out.
  • For Pacquiao, this is a chance to cap off his legendary career with one more blockbuster fight.
  • For fans, it means renewed hope of seeing a showdown they’ve long awaited.
