Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Jaybee “Jay” Ruiz has called on the public to stay alert and report any election-related fake news or disinformation through official hotlines, email, or social media.
In a press release, Ruiz stated that authorities acted quickly to remove early attempts to spread misinformation during the 2025 midterm elections. “There were only a few incidents so far, and we immediately took them down. No one should spread fake news, especially at such a critical time,” he said.
Ruiz emphasized that elections are vital to the democratic foundation of the Philippines, urging Filipinos to help maintain electoral integrity.
