Amidst the severe flooding in Manila caused by the heavy rainfall from the Southwest Monsoon and Typhoon Carina, several pets were also rescued alongside their owners.

Photos shared by the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office on Wednesday show fur parents bringing their dogs along in rescue boats. Rescuers were seen carrying dogs through waist-deep floodwaters, ensuring that no one was left behind. The Manila DRRM Office emphasized their inclusive rescue efforts on Facebook, stating, “Ohana… nobody gets left behind.”

The National Capital Region has been declared under a state of calamity due to the extensive flooding. Typhoon Carina is currently moving towards Taiwan, with Batanes under Signal No. 2 and the Babuyan Islands, northern Cagayan, and northern Ilocos Norte under Signal No. 1.
