Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach has responded to accusations that she “faked” her attendance at a New York Fashion Week (NYFW) show after netizens called her out for posting content from the Carolina Herrera runway that had already been shared online. Wurtzbach admitted that she missed the show due to traffic but tried to make up for it by sharing the fashion house’s content on her social media.

Taking to Instagram, Wurtzbach posted behind-the-scenes photos from her NYFW trip, including invitations to several shows. She explained that missing the Carolina Herrera show by a few minutes made her feel bad, and to show support, she shot and reposted looks from the show. “Expect more CH content coming through!” she wrote.

On September 13, Wurtzbach shared a video from the Carolina Herrera show’s runway, which netizens quickly recognized as content already posted by another Instagram account, stylenotcom, three days earlier. Following the backlash, she took down the video, re-uploading it with proper credit.

To clear the air, Wurtzbach also posted a new video showing the shows she attended and the one she missed due to traffic. In the video, she was seen sitting in her car outside the venue, telling the camera, “We missed it.”

Wurtzbach recently received the Global Fashion Influencer of the Year award at the EMIGALA Fashion & Beauty Awards in Dubai. Despite being a first-time attendee at the Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks in 2023, she ranked sixth among the “most visible influencers” according to Lefty.io, an influencer marketing platform.
