Lawyer Ingemar Macarine, celebrated as the “Pinoy Aquaman,” has successfully completed a 10.8-kilometer open water swim, drawing attention to environmental conservation, tourism in Roxas City, and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. On March 17, Macarine embarked on this aquatic journey, traversing the distance from Olotayan Island to People’s Park in Barangay Baybay, Roxas City, in three hours and fifteen minutes.

Macarine, who also serves as a prosecutor for the Department of Justice, undertook this challenge not only as a personal achievement but also as a means to advocate for cleaner seas and beaches. Balancing his demanding career and rigorous training, he was fortunate to have ideal sea conditions on the day of the swim, aiding in his swift completion of the course.

This endeavor is part of a broader initiative by Macarine to use his swimming feats to spotlight important environmental and health issues. Looking ahead, he plans to continue his advocacy through a 10-kilometer swim in Canadian waters, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to promoting environmental consciousness and an active lifestyle.
