Legazpi City – The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Bicol seized P660,688 worth of shabu from six persons in the string of anti-illegal drug crackdown across the region. Police Col. Maria Luisa “Malu” Calubaquib, PNP regional spokesperson said that the anti-drug operatives apprehended six persons involved in illegal drug trade recovering P660,668 worth of shabu from February 4 to 5 crackdowns over the weekend here.
She said that one of the biggest drug hauls over the weekend was the confiscation of more or less 70 grams of “shabu” amounting to P476,000.00 from a high-value-target individual.
The fall of high value targets according to Calubaquib took place after the entrapment operation launched by Daet municipal police station and Provincial Intelligence Unit-Camarines Norte at about 11:55PM at Bagasbas village, Daet town in Camarines Norte.
The suspect was identified as Joseph Areglado Cuyos, 36 years old, a resident of Block 14, Lot 16, Lumina Homes, Barangay Sabang, Tayabas, Quezon.
In Albay province, a drug pusher was also collared in the operation conducted by Legazpi City Police Station and 503rd MC, RMFB5 around 1:24 PM at Zone 1, Brgy. 37, Bitano, Legazpi City.
The suspect was identified as Noli Lorilla Nasayao. Confiscated from the Nasayao possession was more or less 25 grams of “shabu” with an estimated street value of P170, 000.00.
Shortly after, the police operatives also apprehended two newly identified street level individual suspects at around 4:16 PM in Purok 7, Barangay Salvacion, Tabaco City.
The suspects were identified as Jomarie Boque Besinal, 29 years old and Norabelle Dela Rosa Dorado, 25 years old, both natives of Tabaco City.
Taken from their possession was.86 grams of “shabu” with an estimated value of P5,848.00. In Sorsogon province, another newly identified drug personality nabbed during the buy- bust operation conducted by Sorsogon City Police Station at about 4:45PM in Sta. Ana Compound, Roseville, Barangay Bibincahan, East District, Sorsogon City.
The suspect was identified as Joshua John Maldo, 22 years old. Recovered from his possession was P2,040worth of “shabu”.
In Camarines Sur, the joint operatives of Nabua municipal police station; 2nd PMFC and PIU, all of Camarines Sur police provincial command, along with 501st MC, RMFB5 arrested a certain Karl Hernandez Orias, 36years old from Barangay San Isidro Poblacion, Nabua, Camarines Sur.
Orias was tagged as a street level individual. Found from his custody was one gram of “shabu” amounting to P6,800.00.
Police Brig. Gen. Rudoph B.Dimas, Bicol police regional director said that illegal drugs are a social and community menace that must be controlled, if not totally eliminated.
Dimas asked the public to cooperate in its fight against the illegal drug trade and to be part or support the KASIMBAYANAN program of PNP regional command to combat the fight against drugs.
The government launched the “Buhay ay Ingatan, Droga ay Ayawan” (BIDA) program to urged the public from eliminating the use of illegal drugs as it shattered the lives and future of thousands of Filipinos hook in drugs.(Raydes B. Barcia)
