Comedienne and actress Pokwang is gearing up to launch her new food venture, Mamang Pokwang’s Gourmet, this October. The business will feature a variety of Filipino gourmet products, including specialty vinegar, jarred tuyo, tinapa, aligue, alamang, laing, and gourmet chicken. According to the brand’s Instagram page, all items are “made fresh from Mamang’s kitchen with no preservatives.”
Pokwang credits her friend, Ogie Diaz, for motivating her to start the business after going through personal challenges. She also expressed gratitude to fellow celebrities Vice Ganda, Karla Estrada, and Eugene Domingo for their support.
The business will begin taking orders through its Facebook page next month. Pokwang previously co-owned a food business with ex-partner Lee O’Brian, but the couple split in 2021.
