Retired Marine colonel and senatorial hopeful Ariel Querubin has called on the nation’s uniformed forces to stay neutral and uphold the Constitution as the 2025 elections approach.

Speaking during his 69th birthday celebration at the Philippine Navy headquarters in Taguig—where he served for nearly 35 years—Querubin urged soldiers to remain loyal to the country’s laws and avoid political bias.

“To all men in uniform, I ask only this: remain loyal to the duly constituted authority. Let us defend our Constitution and stay nonpartisan,” he said.

Querubin’s appeal comes as fellow senatorial candidates spent the weekend rallying support across the country.

From Siquijor to Pagadian, and Manila to Iloilo, candidates pushed platforms ranging from agriculture and job creation to affordable housing and anti-corruption efforts.

Meanwhile, Partido Demokratiko Sosyalista ng Pilipinas’ Norberto Gonzales claimed that President Marcos Jr.’s approval could drop significantly following the International Criminal Court’s warrant against former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Elsewhere, candidates like Bam Aquino, Abby Binay, Camille Villar, and Jerome Adonis showcased their ongoing advocacies during campaign stops in various cities.
