Emergency rooms in several Quezon City hospitals have reached capacity, with the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines attributing the rise in patient admissions to changing weather conditions and the recent tropical cyclone Kristine.

At East Avenue Medical Center, the emergency room is currently handling 154 patients, exceeding its 150-patient limit. The intensive care unit is also fully occupied, leaving many patients waiting in hallways and on wheelchairs until private rooms become available. Similar conditions are being reported in nearby hospitals.

Common conditions leading to hospitalizations include stroke, pneumonia, leptospirosis, and dengue, illnesses often linked to seasonal weather shifts.
