The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Davao City reported on Wednesday that Apollo Quiboloy, founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), allegedly sexually abused 200 women over the years. Quiboloy, however, has denied the accusations.

During a Senate committee hearing investigating the alleged abuses, Davao Police Chief Colonel Hansel Marantan stated that authorities have so far identified 68 victims of various ages who were reportedly exploited by Quiboloy.

“His victimization continued repeatedly through the years and across generations,” Marantan said. He also claimed that Quiboloy aimed to emulate the biblical figure King Solomon, who had 700 wives and 300 concubines, seeking to have 1,000 women in his circle.

Marantan detailed how Quiboloy allegedly used “strict fellowship” sessions with inner pastoral members to manipulate and brainwash them into accepting his illegal actions. Photos of the pastor’s bedroom, where the alleged sexual exploitation often occurred, were also presented at the hearing.

Quiboloy, present during the hearing, denied all allegations and challenged his accusers to file legal cases against him. “There is no truth to what they said. They may file a case, and I will face the charges in the proper forum, in court,” he said.

Currently detained at Camp Crame, Quiboloy faces a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Republic Act No. 9208, as well as charges under the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
