Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), has requested a hospital arrest in Davao City, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP). Quiboloy, along with his co-accused Ingrid Canada, filed a motion with the Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 159 on Friday, citing medical conditions that make it difficult for them to stay in their current custodial facility.

In a press briefing, PNP spokesperson Colonel Jean Fajardo confirmed that Quiboloy’s lawyers requested his transfer, along with Canada, to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Davao for medical care. Currently, both are detained at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The court instructed the PNP to arrange medical checkups for Quiboloy and Canada by government doctors before ruling on the request. For the time being, Quiboloy will remain in the PNP facility, while his other co-accused were ordered to be transferred to Pasig City Jail.

Arrest warrants were previously issued against Quiboloy and several others for alleged violations of laws related to child protection and qualified human trafficking. Quiboloy is also facing charges in the U.S. for conspiracy and sex trafficking.

His legal team has consistently denied all allegations.
