Ramon Ang, president of New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), has pledged to personally cover the medical expenses of those injured in the tragic crash at NAIA Terminal 1 and extend financial aid to the families of the two individuals who died.
In a statement released Sunday, Ang expressed his condolences and assured the victims and their loved ones of his support. “This is a deeply tragic event. Our focus is to ensure the victims and their families receive the care and help they need,” he said.
The incident occurred around 8:55 a.m. when a black SUV unexpectedly accelerated and crashed into the terminal’s departure area. A man and a four-year-old girl were killed, and four others were injured. The driver is now under police custody.
NNIC confirmed that the vehicle was initially parked near the terminal before it suddenly lurched forward, breaking through the barriers and hitting pedestrians.
The airport management is actively coordinating with authorities and supporting ongoing investigations. “NNIC extends its deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased and wishes the injured a swift recovery,” the company stated
