MANILA, Philippines — A social media “bardagulan” has erupted between actress Inah de Belen and internet personality Rosmar Tan after the former expressed a strong distaste for being compared to the famous content creator.

The feud began on May 4, 2026, when de Belen posted a photo on Facebook of herself and boyfriend Jake Vargas during a Flores de Mayo event in Bulacan. A netizen commented that they initially mistook de Belen for Rosmar, prompting a reaction from the actress that has since gone viral.

In a series of now-deleted comments, Inah de Belen initially asked who Rosmar was. After apparently doing a quick search, the daughter of seasoned actors Janice de Belen and John Estrada followed up with a blunt response:

“Naresearch ko na siya, plssss don’t associate me with her, ew.”

The “ew” remark immediately caught the attention of netizens and, eventually, Rosmar Tan herself.

Known for her outspoken nature, Rosmar (Rosemarie Tan-Pamulaklakin) did not hold back in her response. In a Facebook post, the influencer questioned de Belen’s popularity and criticized her attitude.

  • On Fame: Rosmar pointed out that while de Belen identifies as a Filipina actress, she was unfamiliar with her work. “Mas maraming beses pa ata ako lumabas sa TV kaysa sayo, ante,” Rosmar wrote, citing her massive social media following of over 30 million as a point of comparison.
  • On the “Ew” Comment: “Kala ko di mo ‘ko kilala? Pero sasabihan mo ako ng ‘ew’ at nakakabwisit? Okay lang sana na di mo ako kilala, pero anong ginawa ko sa’yo para sabihan mo ako ng ‘ew’?”
  • The “Starlet” Label: Rosmar ended one of her posts by calling de Belen a “starlet na di pa nga sikat, attitude na agad,” punctuated with a “Pwe!”

Following the exchange, de Belen’s social media accounts were reportedly swarmed with “angry” reactions and comments from accounts that her supporters labeled as “paid trolls.”

De Belen appeared unfazed, responding to a fan’s warning about the influx of negative comments with a simple, “Not surprised hahaha.” She has not issued an official apology or further explanation for the original “ew” remark, maintaining an “unbothered” stance despite the backlash from Rosmar’s fanbase.

The clash has divided netizens. Some defend de Belen, arguing that everyone has the right to choose who they are compared to, while others side with Rosmar, stating that the actress’s remark was unnecessarily elitist and disrespectful to a fellow public figure.
