Actress-comedian Rufa Mae Quinto has denied any involvement in an alleged securities fraud case, following the confirmation by her legal counsel that she has a standing warrant of arrest for purported violations of the Securities Regulation Code.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Quinto categorically refuted the accusations:
“I have no connection whatsoever to any fraudulent activity, and I categorically deny these baseless accusations. If anything, I am also a victim, and I am determined to seek justice.”
Quinto expressed her disappointment over her name being implicated but remained hopeful that the truth would prevail.
“It is dejecting to see my name being dragged through the mud, but I remain steadfast and confident that the truth will soon prevail,” she added.
Legal Developments
The case involves the same company linked to the recent arrest of actress-entrepreneur Neri Naig. Quinto’s lawyer, Atty. Mary Louise Reyes, confirmed that the actress plans to voluntarily surrender to authorities and post bail.
Quinto assured the public of her full cooperation with the legal process:
“I will cooperate fully with the authorities and face this issue through the proper legal forum. Rest assured, I will fight for my name and reputation.”
