Rufa Mae Quinto recently honored the late Mother Lily Monteverde with a heartfelt and uniquely Rufa Mae tribute on social media. The comedienne shared posters of films she starred in under Regal Entertainment and penned a touching message to the iconic film producer.

“Mother Lily, Regal Films, her family. I love them so much. Thanks for all the nice movie projects you gave me. I’m so happy to be a Regal Baby. My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Monteverde family. Mahal ko kayo. Mother Lily and husband rest in peace,” Rufa wrote on Instagram.

Expressing her deep affection, Rufa reminisced about Mother Lily’s “trust, opportunity, love, and laughter.” She also tagged Roselle Monteverde, Mother Lily’s daughter, in her post.

Reflecting on a recent encounter, Rufa recalled, “When I saw you in the hotel lobby of GMA Gala night last month, I am so happy and know there’s always a reason why things happened, happenings the beginning of a new life!”

True to her comedic flair, Rufa ended her tribute with a playful twist: “Mother, no no no! I wanna say don’t leave us but gotta go go go! Go go gone!”

Fans responded to the post with mixed emotions, finding themselves tearing up and chuckling at the same time. “Peachy, tawang-tawa akoo! Hahahahahaha,” one user commented, while another added, “Paiyak na ko eh, jusko yung dulo ng speech.”

Mother Lily Monteverde passed away on Sunday, just days after her husband Remy’s death. She was 84. Tributes have poured in from celebrities like Judy Ann Santos and Maricel Soriano, who have shared their condolences on social media.

Mother Lily’s wake began on Monday, August 5, with notable personalities such as Snooky Serna and Gina Alajar attending to pay their respects.
