On Instagram, Ruffa shared stunning portraits from her reign, dressed in a red gown adorned with black beads, crowned, and beaming with her signature beauty queen smile. “Balik tanaw… 31 years ago,” she captioned. “18-yr old me when I was crowned Binibining Pilipinas World 1993 at the Araneta Coliseum. Time flies indeed.”

Legacy and Achievements
Following her crowning as Binibining Pilipinas World, Ruffa achieved international recognition by placing second runner-up in Miss World 1993. Ruffa, along with her fellow Binibining Pilipinas queens, will host the 2024 coronation on Sunday, July 7 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Life Beyond the Crown
Beyond her pageant legacy, Ruffa is a dedicated mother to her daughters Lorin and Venice Bektas and a partner to Herbert Bautista. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from PWU in 2022 at the age of 48 and is now pursuing a Master of Arts major in Communication Arts.
