Ruru Madrid is staying positive after suffering a hamstring injury during a taping session for his action series “Lolong: Pangil ng Maynila.”

The Kapuso actor shared an encouraging update on social media, revealing that the injury isn’t as severe as initially feared. “Thank you for all the love and concern. By God’s grace, the MRI results came out—just a Grade 1 and 2 strain, which means it’s a partial tear and recovery will only take 2 to 3 weeks,” Ruru posted.

“To God be the glory! I’ll be back even faster,” he added with optimism.

Ruru was rushed to the hospital on Monday after pulling his hamstring while filming. Doctors confirmed the injury following an MRI scan.

Hamstring muscles, located at the back of the thigh, are essential for movements like walking, running, and jumping. These muscles are responsible for bending the knee and extending the hip, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Fans can catch “Lolong: Pangil ng Maynila” on GMA Prime, airing weekdays at 8 p.m. right after “24 Oras.”
