Fresh off his Best Supporting Actor win at the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) for his role in Green Bones, Ruru Madrid expressed his deep gratitude to his girlfriend, Bianca Umali, and revealed his readiness to settle down with her.
In an interview with Nelson Canlas on 24 Oras, Ruru shared how Bianca has been his steadfast support throughout his journey.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t met Bianca,” Ruru said, referring to her as the greatest gift in his life.
“I can’t explain how much I value her and how important she is to me.”
Plans for the Future
When asked if he envisions marriage in their future, Ruru confirmed his intentions, stating:
“Yes, if it were up to me, I’d do it now. Why wait when you’ve already found the one? I know I’ll never find anyone like Bianca.”
Bianca’s Role in Ruru’s Success
Bianca visibly supported Ruru during the MMFF 2024 awards night, where she tearfully cheered him on as he accepted his award. During his speech, Ruru called Bianca his greatest inspiration and credited her for his achievements.
Ruru won for his portrayal of prison guard Xavier Gonzaga in Green Bones, while Dennis Trillo took home the Best Actor award for his role as prisoner Domingo Zamora. The film, directed by Zig Dulay, also won Best Picture.
