In a surprising turn of events on the set of GMA’s prime series “Black Rider,” Ruru Madrid found himself embarking on an immediate kissing scene with newcomer Angeli Khang, making for an unexpected start to their on-screen relationship. This first scene together was not only a surprise for Madrid but also raised questions about how his real-life girlfriend, Bianca Umali, might react, given the lack of prior communication due to poor cell service on location in Tanay.

During a recent segment on GMA News “24 Oras,” Madrid expressed his initial awkwardness, noting that it was the first time he and Khang had met, which made the sudden romantic scene particularly challenging. “When I arrived on set, I checked the script and was surprised to see a kissing scene with Miss Angeli Khang right off the bat,” Madrid shared.

Despite the sudden onset of intimacy, both actors maintained professionalism, with Khang humorously commenting, “We joked, ‘No bonding? This is our bonding, a kiss right away.'” She emphasized that for the viewers, it’s all part of the job and they are committed to maintaining professionalism throughout.

Madrid also discussed the understanding he has with Umali regarding work-related romantic scenes. He explained that they have a mutual agreement to not interfere with each other’s professional commitments but to remain transparent about such scenes. “In our relationship, the rule is that there should be no restrictions regarding our work. It’s essential to be transparent whenever scenes like this come up,” he said.

Angeli Khang, who is venturing into her first teleseries, expressed excitement about transitioning from film to television, describing the experience as like being part of one big family. She acknowledged feeling nervous about stepping out of her comfort zone but is embracing the new challenges enthusiastically.

“Black Rider” continues to heat up with the introduction of new characters, played by Lianne Valentin, Luke Conde, BJ Forbes, Epy Quizon, Madam Inutz, William Lorenzo, Yul Servo, and Matet De Leon, adding more intrigue and dynamics to the storyline. The series also retains its core cast, including Yassi Pressman, Herlene Budol, Raymond Bagatsing, Rio Locsin, Jestoni Alarcon, and Jon Lucas, ensuring the ongoing depth and appeal of the show.
