Vice President Sara Duterte declared on Monday that the 12 senatorial candidates she supports for the 2025 elections are united by a shared vision for national peace and prosperity.
The group includes the ten official candidates of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban), chaired by former President Rodrigo Duterte, as well as Senator Imee Marcos and Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar, an Alyansa candidate.
“These 12 individuals are bound by a common vision—a peaceful and prosperous Philippines—which can overcome today’s political divisions,” said Sara Duterte.
Senator Imee Marcos recently withdrew from her brother President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s senatorial ticket, citing disagreements with how his administration handled her father’s arrest. Former President Duterte is currently detained in the Netherlands for alleged crimes against humanity related to his war on drugs.
Despite Imee and Camille’s endorsement by the Vice President, PDP Laban officials clarified that only ten candidates have been formally endorsed by the party. Senator Robin Padilla, the party’s president, has also voiced support for other candidates individually.
Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco, campaign manager for the Marcos administration’s Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, maintained that their 11-man senatorial ticket remains intact.
