Selena Gomez has opened up about her inability to carry her own children, a deeply personal revelation shared in a recent Vanity Fair interview. The singer and actress, who has battled lupus since 2015, explained how her health condition has impacted her dreams of motherhood.

“I haven’t ever said this, but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children,” Gomez shared, citing medical complications that would endanger both her life and the baby’s. “That was something I had to grieve for a while.”

While Gomez expressed sadness over this reality, she also highlighted her excitement about alternative paths to motherhood. “It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it… but I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption,” she said, considering these as possibilities for her future.

“I’m excited for what that journey will look like. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.”

Gomez, who has also been open about her bipolar disorder diagnosis, is currently in a relationship with music producer Benny Blanco. The couple has previously collaborated on several projects, including the hit songs “Same Old Love” and “I Can’t Get Enough.”

This revelation comes shortly after reports that Gomez has reached billionaire status.
