The Senate committee on women, children, family relations, and gender equality has asked courts in Pasig City and Quezon City to permit Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy and his co-accused to attend a hearing on October 23. The investigation addresses allegations of human trafficking and sexual abuse involving Quiboloy and his organization.

Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros’s office confirmed that letters were sent on October 14 to Pasig RTC Branch 159 Judge Elma Rafallo-Lingan and Quezon City RTC Branch 106 Judge Noel Parel. The committee requested that Quiboloy and his co-accused—Jackielyn Roy, Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada, and Sylvia Cemañes—be allowed to attend the hearing.

The Senate previously issued an arrest order for Quiboloy in March after he failed to appear at earlier hearings. Quiboloy, who has been detained at Camp Crame since September, has stated that he will only respond to these allegations in court, declining to cooperate with the Senate inquiry. He faces multiple charges, including alleged human trafficking and sex trafficking of minors in both the Philippines and the United States.
